What We Value

The Ardous Approach

01

Technical Rigor

We build models from first principles and document every assumption. Good engineering isn't about finding the answer. It's about knowing why the answer is right. We expect the same standard from everyone who joins this team.

Integrity & Honest Communication
02

Integrity & Honest Communication

We do not over-promise. We do not hide uncertainty. When something is hard or unclear, we say so and work through it openly. The trust our clients place in us is worth more than any single deliverable.

03

Practical Execution

Research rigor applied to real program constraints. We move efficiently from analysis to deliverable without cutting corners, meeting milestones while maintaining the quality that serious engineering requires.

Ardous Engineering & Research LLC is seeking a Senior CFD Engineer to lead computational fluid dynamics work supporting thermal management, heat transfer, and fluid-thermal analysis across advanced-energy and data-center cooling applications. This role contributes to high-fidelity modeling, validated technical studies, engineering documentation, and project execution support for challenging commercial engineering programs.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who can own analysis end to end, communicate clearly, and support projects with professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead CFD analysis of single- and two-phase cooling: cold plates, immersion systems, CDUs, rear-door heat exchangers, and rack-level thermal management
  • Develop and execute conjugate heat transfer, flow-distribution, and pressure-drop studies on real hardware geometry
  • Own meshing strategy, turbulence and boiling model selection, and solver convergence
  • Validate models against client bench data and benchmark against analytical solutions
  • Prepare engineering documentation such as technical memoranda, analysis summaries, assumptions logs, and review materials
  • Contribute to verification-minded workflows, including convergence checks and traceable documentation
  • Support project execution such as scope development, schedule coordination, vendor communication, and technical follow-up
  • Communicate directly with client engineering teams across disciplines
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field
  • 5+ years of relevant CFD experience
  • Strong command of ANSYS Fluent and core heat transfer and fluid mechanics
  • Demonstrated experience validating models against experimental data
  • Ability to perform structured engineering analysis and communicate results clearly
  • Experience with engineering documentation and technical writing
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; because some work may involve export-controlled technical data (ITAR/EAR), candidates must qualify as a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
  • Two-phase and boiling CFD (nucleate boiling, CHF, dryout)
  • Electronics or data-center cooling experience; ANSYS Icepak
  • Siemens Star-CCM+; HPC or cloud-based solving
  • MATLAB or Python for post-processing and automation
What We Value
Strong Analytical Mindset Clear Communicator Professional & Dependable Small-Business Comfortable Detail Oriented
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary $120,000 to $160,000, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Fully remote within the United States
  • Opportunity to contribute to technically challenging engineering and research work
  • Direct collaboration with company leadership and technical decision-makers
